The Kapaa girls volleyball team will make its bid for the New City Nissan Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division II girls volleyball state championship, starting Wednesday at the Kaimuki High School gym.
After clinching the Kauai Interscholastic Federation title last Wednesday in straight sets over the Menehune in a playoff game, the Warrior wahine enter the state competition unseeded in Division II.
They open the competition against University High School Wednesday with the first ball being served at 7 p.m.
A victory against University will pit the Kapaa ladies against the No. 4 seed Farrington Thursday at the Kaimuki gym with a 5 p.m. service.
Top seed in the Division II state belongs to Konawaena with Seabury Hall getting the nod for the No. 2 seed. Hawaii Baptist Academy gets the No. 3 seed.
Other teams in the Division II competition include Hana, Le Jardin, Kailua, Pahoa, Hawaii Preparatory Academy and Damien high schools.
Iolani gets the top seed for Division I followed by Moanalua at No. 2, Kekaulike at No. 3 and Waiakea at the No. 4 seed.
