LIHUE — John Constantino of the Kauai Community College welcomed more than 125 people to the Kauai Museum Thursday to open the Ho‘opili Hou student leadership conference.
“The students represent the leadership at all of the universities, including the University of Hawaii, colleges, and community colleges, public and private, in the state,” he said.
Maryanne Kusaka, Kauai Museum board of trustees president, spoke about the Polynesian navigational voyage theme which greeted the students.
Students will be on island through the weekend.
“This is an opportunity for the student leaders to learn about leadership, grow as leaders, and network among other student leaders,” Constantino said. “Each group will be leading a workshop where everyone else can learn.”
