No opposition means no weird faces or poses, so Monique Joy Lorenzo must have been happy since she was ready for her close up Saturday night at the boys basketball game between Kapaa and Waimea high school.
Coach Lois Keamoai was working hard, balancing between the soccer games at Vidinha Stadium before rushing back for the basketball game. She even had to hurry and pull the plugs before Braden Kobayashi would pull it from below the bleachers.
Joyce Evens did the same balancing act. Coach Frannie Constantino of the Super Sonics (not just Kaumakani) was at the game, and Curtis Broyles has this amazing video of his son Mayson doing a shot (through the net) from the bleachers. Mayson has been averaging more than 20 points a game in all of the Super Sonic outings at the county’s youth games.
Mahalo to Sarah Tochiki for the heads-up on the science olympiad and kudos to Ryan Girard on a great event Monday!
