Queen’s Bath should be closed
As I listen to the rescue helicopter flying over the bluff in Princeville and Hanalei for the second day, searching for the man who was swept out to sea from Queen’s Bath, I wonder how many more families will have to suffer the loss of a loved one before Queen’s Bath is closed for the winter surf season?

Cows will be mistreated
I respectfully suggest that Friends of Maha’ulepu enlist the aid of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals in their efforts to stop the asinine proposed dairy on the South Shore. For two years I’ve been reading about 699 pregnant cows waiting to be shipped to Kauai. I grew up on a farm in North Dakota and know that the gestation period for cows is 274 days.
These poor animals must be suffering greatly after so many months of pregnancy. I’m certain that PETA and the vast majority of mothers on Kauai will agree with me that this is cruel in bovine treatment.

Trump wrong choice to lead country
Well, I’m gonna say this again: Are you serious? Can people really be contemplating a vote for Trump? After watching him in ANY venue, whether he is alone or in a debate, how could you possibly picture him running the most powerful country in the world?
He has no finesse, no grace, no common sense. He is combative with everyone he encounters and insults every person, race, group and country he comes across. Keep in mind that you can expect him to be the same way with world leaders. If you believe what he says, he is the only sane person on the planet.
Everybody I talk to agrees that they wouldn’t vote for him, so why do the polls show him in the lead?
Granted, all the potential candidates have their shortcomings and it’s hard to picture any of them at the top spot in our nation, but still I feel that almost any of them would still be better than Trump to be president.
Watching all the hoo-haa thrown around by those running for office makes it hard to support any of them. Like I’ve said before, it’s like choosing which snake you want to bite you. But, I truly hope that the intelligent people of this great country have their say in the end and that the best person is chosen, not the loudest and most insulting of them.
We need a great leader to steer us out of the situation we are in, not a loudmouth like Trump!
