PUHI — Nicole Okuna, Sheraton Kauai Resort director of sales and marketing, was excited about what brought her to the YMCA pool Saturday morning.
“We have a check for $3,604.97 to present to the Hawaii High School Athletic Association,” Okuna said.
The money represents proceeds from the Table 53 “You Dine, We Donate” program for December.
The Kauai Interscholastic Federation will receive the funds which will be shared by its member schools for the purpose of helping with travel to state and other off-island competitions.”
Table 53 is inside the RumFire restaurant on the grounds of the Sheraton Kauai. Food and beverage proceeds from the oceanfront-facing table are earmarked for a nonprofit for each month.
January proceeds will go to the Kauai Filipino Chamber of Commerce for use toward the Kauai Philippine Cultural Center.

Since its inception in October 2012, the program has raised more than $125,000 for local charities.
