Elaine (retirement means volunteering) said she was going to check with Josie Pablo on the upcoming events at the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital so she could have things to do.
Kudos to Mel Chiba, Daniel Hamada, Cheryl, and Kahale Keawe on opening the first student-based credit union in the state! The credit union is the next level of financial literacy instruction which started with Ivory Lloyd and the Junior Achievement programs at the school.
OK, so it’s a big Valentine’s weekend starting with the county and Na Kupuna Council hosting its annual senior Valentine’s shindig at the convention hall.
David Murray (he was helping Rev. Ryan Newman with Ashes to Go) said there will be “Love in the air” when the All Saints’ Church and Preschool hosts its monthly Saturday Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (they even do eWaste collection for free), and then, Chef Martina Hilldorfer and the culinary department at the Kauai Community College join forces with the American Culinary Federation chefs (which is almost all the chefs) for the annual ACF Breakfast Sunday at Kauai Community College starting at 7 a.m.
