Juan Jon ‘John’ Dancil
Juan Jon “John” Dancil of Kekaha, passed away at the age of 86 on Feb. 1, 2016 in Kekaha. Born on July 2, 1929 in Mana, Kaua’i, he was a retired welder with Kekaha Sugar Plantation and an U.S. Army Veteran.
John is survived by his brothers, Jose Dancil of the mainland, Jaime Dancil of Maui, Manuel Oamil of Philadelphia, and Hermogenes “Imo” Oamil of O’ahu; sisters, Dolores “Betty” Acedillo of the Big Island, Lenora “Flora” Caban of O’ahu, Corazon “Linda” Alameda of O’ahu, and Carmen Uyesugi of O’ahu; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Raymond Espino Sr.
Raymond Espino Sr. passed away at KVMH on Jan. 11, 2016 at the age of 79. Born on April 27, 1936 in Waimea, Kaua’i, he was a retired electrician with Olokele Sugar Company.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Espino; son, Raymond “Kokosoi” Espino Jr.; sister, Juana Domingo, Rose Caluya and Diane Esdicul.
Raymond is survived by his sons, Robby L. Espino of Kaumakani, and Anson M. Espino of Kaumakani; daughters, Melanie (Roger) Honjo of Kalaheo, and Lorelei (Bala) Campos of Kipu; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Placido “Sonny” (Esther) Espino Jr. of Makakilo, and Anthony “Tony” Espino of the Philippines; sisters, Mercy (Andy) Gorospe of O’ahu, Alfonsa Maligro of O’ahu, Julia McCullen of O’ahu, and Geraldine (Elisio) Dureg of O’ahu; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family for a Celebration of Life at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016. Friends may visit with the family at 8 a.m. with services to follow at 11 a.m.
The family suggests casual attire and are graciously declining flowers.

Shimeyo Nakagawa
Shimeyo Nakagawa of Ele’ele passed away at Kaua’i Care Center on Feb. 6, 2016 at the age of 91. Born on Jan. 22, 1925, in Wahiawa, Kaua’i, she was a retired seamstress with Iolani Sportswear.
She is survived by her son, Patrick Nakagawa of Ele’ele; daughters, Charlotte Nakagawa of Honolulu, Harriet (Ronald) Riffel of Tigard, Oregon, and Sandra Nakagawa of Ele’ele; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Alex Oune of California, and Allan Oune of California; sisters, Kazue Nakama of Honolulu, and Margaret Oune of Henderson, Nevada; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016 at Kaua’i Soto Zenshuji.
The family suggests casual attire. No koden.

Robert ‘Robbie’ Edward Lemmon Kaholokula
Robert “Robbie” Edward Lemmon Kaholokula of Kapaa passed in Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Feb. 9, 2016, at the age of 55. He was born in Lihue, Kauai on May 25, 1960, and was an entertainer.
Preceded in death by his parents, James and Harriet Kaholokula.
Robbie is survived by his wife, Perle “Puamohala” Kaholokula; sons, Baron Kaholokula of Oahu; daughter, Lei Ui (Kaha’i) Choy of Oahu; brothers; Kimo (Ipo) Kaholokula of Wailua, Jimmy (Heika) Fujita of Kalaheo, Jordan (Shirley) Kahananui of Kilauea; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016 at Kauai Veterans Center in Lihue with visitation from 9 a.m. and services celebrated at 10 a.m.

Clarence Arruda
Clarence Arruda of Kapa’a passed away at the age of 87 on Feb. 2, 2016 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born on Jan. 27, 1929 he was a retired Sergeant Major, E-9 with the U.S. Army.
He is preceded in death by his son, Mark Arruda; and sister, Lucille Slanus.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Puanani Edith Arruda; son, Marvin Arruda of Washington; daughter, Puanani M. Arruda of Waimea, Kaua’i; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Joaquin N. Arruda; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016 at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with services to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Hanapepe.
The family suggests aloha attire and will be graciously declining flowers.
