Candice Schwalbach flew in from Honolulu to take in the Bunco party (Kathleen Wichman said you don’t need brains to play this game) which launched the Multiple Sclerosis Walk at the Kalaheo Steak and Ribs (mahalo to Caroline Fredericksen for opening on the normally closed night).
More than four dozen women enjoyed a night of prime rib, salads, and bunco while bidding on prizes. Kudos to Laurie Nakano who said they meet once a month for bunco so just added the opening of the MS Walk to the agenda, and Caroline (she said, ‘I support you!’) added the Kalaheo Steak and Ribs flavor.
Sandy Poenhelt of The Right Slice (congratulations on being the only Kauai person to make the Pacific Business News’ “Women Who Mean Business” list!) had two of her top pies as prizes, and the only things missing were Sharron Weber and Katie Beer.
Laurie said there’s still time to get on board for the MS Sunset Stroll, March 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Kapaa Beach Park (is Jamie Arreola of Duke’s cooking?), and the MS Awareness Week is from March 7.
