LIHUE — The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for the County of Kauai as unstable weather could lead to flash flooding. If flash flooding becomes imminent, a Flash Flood Warning will be issued.
Officials announced that one lane of Kuhio Highway near the Hanalei Bridge is now open to alternating traffic.
Due to the reopening of the highway, the Red Cross Shelter in Hanalei is closed.
Unstable weather is expected to continue through the weekend. Ponding, low visibility and other hazardous driving conditions are likely.
Do not attempt to cross fast-flowing or rising water in your vehicle or on foot.
