Albert D. Soto
Albert D. Soto of Hanapepe, Hawaii, passed away in Honolulu, Hawaii, on March 13, 2016, at the age of 69. Born on March 8, 1947, in Waimea, Kauai, he was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army and was the Head Coach for Waimea High School Softball since softball started at Waimea. They won many KIF Titles and brought home the first-ever Hawaii High School State Softball trophy in 1990.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lovina Soto; brothers, Robert “Bobby” Rita, Ralph Soto, and Dennis Soto; and brother-in-law, Andrew Lazaro Sr.
Albert is survived by his brothers, Thomas (Lynn) Rita of Kalaheo and Mervin (Cindy) Soto of Hanapepe; sisters, Hilda (Anthony) Lazaro Sr. of Hanapepe and Cecelia Lazaro of Kekaha; sister-in-laws, Bernadette Soto of Hanapepe, Ginny Soto of Ele’ele, and Peggy Rita of California; along with numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at St. Theresa Church in Kekaha. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with Mass at 12 noon and burial to follow at the Kauai Veteran’s Cemetery in Hanapepe.
The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

Irvin Cabreros Cadiz
Irvin Cabreros Cadiz of Kapaa passed away on Feb. 27, 2016, at the age of 30. He was born in Carranglan, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, on July 14, 1985, and worked at Plantation Hale as a houseman and a utility worker at St. Regis Hotel.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Aquilino and Brigida Cadiz.
Irvin is survived by one son, Irvin Cadiz Jr.; one daughter, Chaira Cadiz; father, Irineo Cadiz of Honolulu; mother, Ligaya Cabreros of Hanamaulu; three brothers, Jonathan (Mia) Cadiz, Michael Cadiz, Arvin Lomboy; two sisters, Jennifer (Roland) Cuellar, Sherrie Lomboy; companion, Charlotte Domingo; numerous aunties, uncles, cousins, one niece and one nephew.
A celebration of Irvin’s life will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Lihue Cemetery.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Cadiz family with arrangements.
TB (Tom) Lyons III
TB (Tom) Lyons III of Kailua, Hawaii, died on March 16, 2016, at 5:06 p.m. surrounded by his loving family.
TB, age 85, was born and raised in Kapaa, Kauai. A former police officer with the San Jose, California, and Honolulu Police Departments, he was an insurance agent with Mutual of Omaha insurance company (Hawaii office) for 53 years, starting in 1963.
He was a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table, the Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolulu, Hui Hanai (Liliuokalani Trust), the 200 Club, Waikiki Elks #616, X-board of Managers for Camp Erdman YMCA for 43 years (1958-2001), X-member of the State Highway Safety Council, the Friends of Iolani Palace, Friends of the USS Missouri, as well as many others.
He was also the namesake and sponsor of the annual TB Lyons Tennis Classic at the Coco Palms Hotel on Kauai for 18 years (1974-1992) until the hotel and tennis courts were all demolished by Hurricane Iniki in September 1992. His annual tournament was the largest tennis tournament in the State of Hawaii at that time.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He attended the old Saint Louis College in Honolulu (1942-45), graduated from Kapaa High School on Kauai (Class of 1948) and also graduated from San Jose State College (BA 1956).
He was preceded in death by his first wife (Marlene, 1990) and his first-born son, Thomas B. Lyons IV (Tommy, 1992).
He is survived by his wife, Betsy Lyons. He is also survived by son, Michael Lyons (Kauai); daughters Barbara Lyons (Milwaukie, Oregon), Suzie Lyons (Kauai), Shari Lyons Grounds (Kailua, Oahu); as well as seven grandchildren: Malina Lee, Keale Lee, Kamanakai Lee, Jarrett Anderson, Jami Anderson, Alyssa Lyons and Kala’i Grounds.
Celebration of life to be held on April 30, 2016, at 430-B North Kalaheo Ave., Kailua at 4:30 p.m.
Scattering of ashes will be held by the family at a later date at sea along the Na Pali Coast of Kauai (Awa’awa’puhi), where he will join his first wife and son in Eternal Rest.
