Linda Ann Waialeale
Linda Ann Waialeale of Kapa’a, Hawai’i passed away at the age of 71 on Feb. 29, 2016 in Lihue, Kaua’i. Born on July 25, 1944 in Pasadena, Texas, she was a housewife.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Helen; two brothers, James and Jack; sister, Sherry; and grandchildren, Tanner and Tani.
Linda is survived by her husband, William K. Sonny Waialeale; sons, Troy (Sharon Snuggs) Waialeale, Dane (Terence) Dabis Waialeale, and Cory Waialeale; daughter, Jade (Poki) Waialeale-Battad; Aunt, Maggie Jo and Texas family; grandchildren, Tara Waialeale-Rivera,Tierny (Chris) Fu, Teagan Waialeale, Tori (Brandon Ishibashi) Waialeale-Battad, Tristin Waialeale, Tyli Waialeale-Battad, Harmony Graziano, and Manna Graziano; great-grandchildren, Tavis and Tariq Fu; hanai sisters Jeanine Guinn, Betty Lou Sanchez, and Alice Gordines; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.
A Celebration of Linda’s Life will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Wailua Marina State Park. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with services to begin at noon and luncheon to follow.
The family suggests casual attire and flowers are welcomed.

Born on July 1, 1947 in Waimea he was a truck driver for Gay & Robinson.

Edith G. Tanimoto of Lihue, Hawai’i passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on March 5, 2016 at the age of 86. Born on May 23, 1929 in Koloa, Kaua’i, she was a retired Publisher of the Garden Island Newspaper.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Tokuichi and Hanako Gushiken; sister, Mildred Itakura; brother, Hugh “Sonny” Gushiken; and daughter, LouAnn Tanimoto.
Edith is survived by her husband, Tsuyoshi Tanimoto; daughter, Joy (Ronald) Kouchi of Lihue; two grandsons, Dan and Egan Kouchi; sisters, Dorothy Kaneshiro of Omao, Kaua’i, Ethel Lei Minniear of Orange County, California, Esther (James) Kaneshiro of Kaneohe, O’ahu, and Janet (Edwin) Terui of Kapa’a, Kaua’i; and sister-in-law, Patricia Gushiken of Marshall, Michigan; along with numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Edith’s Life will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Kaua’i Veteran’s Center in Lihue. Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. with services to follow at 4 p.m.

Richard Thomas Carveiro Sr. was born on Oct. 20, 1934 in Port Allen and returned home to our Lord on Feb. 23, 2016. Honorably discharged from the United States Army, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for McBryde Sugar. He is preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Adeline Carveiro; brothers Robert (Esther) Carveiro, Manuel Carveiro Jr., and Lawrence Carveiro; brother-in-law Thomas Vidinha Sr. and sister-in-law Joyce (Henry) Abreu.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lydia Vidinha Carveiro, one brother Albert (Maxine) Carveiro of Kaumakani, sister-in-laws Nora Carveiro of ‘Ele’ele, Gwen Carveiro of Kalaheo and Carol Vidinha of Kalaheo; sons Ricky (Kathy) Carveiro Jr. of Lawai, David (Allison) Carveiro of Kalaheo, Calvin (June Manini) Carveiro of Kalaheo; granddaughters Alyssa-Lynn Carveiro and Layleigh Carveiro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Richard’s life will be held on March 19, 2016 at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. with mass to follow at 10 a.m. Casual attire is suggested. Family request that flowers please be omitted.
