The Kauai Interscholastic Federation baseball season opener has been rescheduled.
The doubleheader between Kapaa and Kauai high schools, originally scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, will be pushed back a couple of hours.
The change was made because several student-athletes will be taking SATs that morning, said Kapaa High School athletic director Greg Gonsalves.
“We kind of have a standing policy for baseball and softball. If kids are testing, the SAT or ACT testing, we start the doubleheaders at 12 o’clock,” Gonsalves said.
The first game of Saturday’s twin bill between the Red Raiders and Warriors will start at noon Saturday at Vidinha Stadium in Lihue. The second game will follow 30 minutes after the first contest concludes.
Waimea High School will host Kauai High at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hanapepe Stadium.
