Bicycle Racing Kauai and Tradewind Cycling Team will host the seventh annual Pedal to the Meadow race on May 28.
The bicycle hill climb will start in Kekaha and cyclists will to go up to Kanaloahuhuhulu Meadow in Kokee.
“Usually, it’s on a Sunday. We’re moving it to Saturday so we can have the two events on Sunday,” said co-race director Mary Williamson.
Added to the weekend’s events are the Mana Time Trial and the Cycle on the Strip Criterium, which will go on Sunday, May 29.
The time trial will start in Kekaha and bikers will go to Mana and back. The Cycle on the Strip Criterium will be held at Kauai Raceway Park in Mana.
All three races are sanctioned by USA Cycling.
“USA Cycling is the governing body for cycling in the US. They train officials, they manage anybody who is an amateur racer,” Williamson said. “We are the only USA Cycling races on the island on Kauai. If people are racing for points, they’re happy to hear that.”
