Mike was helping at the Hawaii Junior Golf Day event along with Kapaa High School coach Kellie Pleas (she said work at the Hokuala Golf Club will start soon) who got Kainalu Gandia (his dad has to get a suit for those West Point appearances) and Micah Barretto who put in time ahead of their Kauai Interscholastic Federation golf round at the Puakea Golf Course (even got to see the disc golf basket at No. 1).
Kudos to Lauren Yama and her Hawaii State Junior Golf Association crew on hosting the event which drew about three dozen aspiring young golfers, including Haley Arakaki who has been playing for three years and got her friend Kahi Davis to come out for the first time.
Glenn Tamagawa always does a great job working with the kids (he’s got the Spring Break Academy going on right now at the Puakea Golf Course).
Kudos also to Karen and Steven Matsumoto and Coach John Kaneholani on another great Dennis Agena and Kalakaua Basketball clinic which wrapped up Friday afternoon.
