Katie Yonano of El Dorado Hills, California, said having the petting zoo Sunday was almost like being home.
“Every year, we have an Easter party at a ranch in California,” Yonano said. “This year, we were not going to be able to attend, so discovering this zoo is wonderful. It’s almost like being home.”
M. Kawamura Farm Enterprises hosted the petting zoos at both the Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club, as well as at the Courtyard by Marriott at Coconut Beach on Easter Sunday for the benefit of children who accompany families to Easter celebrations.
“This is so cute,” said Terry Philips, tending the zoo at the Courtyard. “There is this cute little girl with a puffy white dress. She went in and, in a few minutes, she was rolling around the grass and having the time of her life.”
Ed Kawamura said he doesn’t know how long they’ve done the annual event.
“All I know is that around this time, it gets pretty busy,” Ed said.
