The first events for the Mayor’s Youth Track Meet will start at 9 a.m., April 9, and 11 a.m., April 10, at Vidinha Stadium.
Hosted by the County of Kauai, Department of Parks and Recreation, youth in grades K through 5 are scheduled to compete, April 9. Youth in the middle school division, or grades 6 through 8, take the field, April 10.
Awards will be presented to the top school achieving the most posts as well as individual medals and ribbons in both divisions.
Student athletes will compete in events, including the 50 Meter Dash, 100 Meter Dash, the Standing Broad Jump, Softball Throw, 200 Meter run, 400 Meter run, 800 Meter run, and relay events.
A food booth on the mauka, or soccer field side of the stadium, will be open to satisfy appetites and quench thirsts.
