Lloyd Chester Chong
Lloyd Chester Chong of Honolulu passed away at the age of 67 on March 8, 2016 in Sacramento California. He was born on Oct. 24, 1948 in Waimea Kauai. He was an Honorable Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Joseph Chong, Mother, Margaret Woo Duncan and Sister Iris Hernandez.
Lloyd is survived by his brothers Walter Chong and Gary Chong of California, sisters Sandra Kaui of Kauai and Debra Soto of Honolulu, & numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Hanapepe Veteran’s Pavilion; services will begin at 9 a.m.
Arrangements were handled by Sierra Foothills in Sacramento, California.
Raymond K. Itamura
Raymond K. Itamura of Kalaheo passed away at the age of 82 on April 9, 2016 at Garden Isle Health Care. Born on Nov. 22, 1932 in Lihue, Kauai. He served in the US Army and was a retired concrete plant supervisor for Hale Kauai, Ltd. before starting his own construction company.
He is preceded in death by his parents James Itamura and Leilani Halemanu Itamura; brother, Kenneth Itamura; sister, Leilani Kalaukahi; Uncles, Joseph Halemanu, Herman Halemanu, and Moses “Moke” Halemanu; Aunty Grace “Pua” Hanohano; Hanai Sister Lydia “Lily” Halemanu Estacio; Niece Lily Halemanu Fernandez; and Great Grandchild Kayla Itamura.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Marie “Gladys” Itamura; son Glenn (Barbara) Itamura of Hanamaulu; daughters, Karen Ono Itamura of Puhi, Cheryl (Lisa Ka’aihue) Itamura of Kalaheo; and Raynette (Wayne) Taniguchi of Kalaheo; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Garden Island Mortuary at 9:30 a.m. with the Celebration of Life beginning at 11 a.m. and burial to follow.
Casual attire is preferred and flowers are welcomed.
A special thank you to the social workers, doctors, nurses and staff at Kauai Hospice, KVMH and Garden Isle Health Care.

Devin Fitzpatrick
Devin Fitzpatrick passed away on April 16, 2016 at the age of 23. He was born March 31, 1993 on Kauai.
He graduated from Kapaa High School and he worked as a tile setter with his father.
He is preceded in death by his Grandfather, Daniel Fitzpatrick, Grandmother, Romy Leah, Grandfather, Arthur Wills & Grandmother Sue Wills.
He is survived by his Mother, Holy Fitzpatrick, Father, Sean Fitzpatrick, Brother, Danny Fitzpatrick & Brother, Pono Fitzpatrick.
His celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Waipa.

Takeshi Matsuda
Takeshi Matsuda of Lihue passes away in Garden Isle Health Care on April 27, 2016, at the age of 90. He was born in Waimea, Kauai, Hawaii on April 12, 2016, and retired from the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation Highways Division as a Bridge Maintenance Supervisor.
Preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Matsuda.
Takeshi is survived by two sons, Steven Matsuda and Randall Matsuda; one daughter, Lorna (Claude) Hebaru; 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert “To” (Nancy) Matsuda; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Lihue Hongwanji Mission with visitation from 3:00 p.m. and services beginning at 4:00 p.m.
Family requests casual attire.

Harriann ‘Annie’ E. Carvalho
Harriann “Annie” E. Carvalho of Kauai passed away in Peace in Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 28, 2016, at the age of 50. She was born March 8, 1966 in Lihue, Kauai.
Harriann is survived by her son Harrison Rita of Kauai; brothers, Irvharc D. Carvalho of Washington, Rodglas G. Carvalho of Kauai; sisters, Delsa Starr Carvalho and Georgiann Carvalho; numerous nieces and nephews as well as a large hanai family from all over the world.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Anahola Beach Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Potluck was Annie’s favorite food so bring plenty.
The family request a donation be made to Kauai Food Bank as she was homeless.

Charles Valdez
Charles Valdez of Ele’ele passed away at the age of 71 on April 28, 2016 at Tripler Army Medical Clinic. Born in Lihue on Oct. 18, 1945, he was retired from the army and a director of engineers for Kamaole Sand Maui, Castle Resorts.
He is preceded in death by his father, Tranquilino Nero Valdez.
Charles is survived by his son, Sean Valdez of Ele’ele; grandson, Skyler Morris-Valdez; mother, Felicidad B. Valdez of Kekaha; brothers, Ronnie (Novena) Valdez of Ele’ele and Stanford Valdez of Kekaha; sisters, Juliette Valdez of O’ahu, Erlinda (Dennis) Schliewe of Pahrump, Nevada, and Sylvia (Eli) Pablo of Kaumakani; along with numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Visitation will be at 9 to 10 a.m. with services to begin at 10 a.m. Casual attire is suggested and flowers are welcomed.
