Hope Gary Pacheco is having a great time in Las Vegas while the rest of the North Shore Lions (Bill Troutman even got to give his grandson Justin “Bam Bam” Noble a preview of kindergarten) did their service project of building raised gardens for the Kilauea Elementary School (watch out for Liam McCann who can nail the basketball from near the half-court line).
Sherry and Dana Gonzalves make a great team, and mahalo to Bino Castelo for sharing the sunflower story and the Kilauea School kids.
Over at the Kauai Community Market, John McClure (the real Amber McClure is home for the weekend, too) is excited about meeting Katheryn Fiedler, the new CTAHR extension agent who has a lot of knowledge about plant pathology. Nia Klutke was too busy with the Chicken Pesto pizza.
Kudos to Valerie Saiki of the Department of Health who was already dispensing information on emergency preparedness kits (hurricane season starts June 1) and information on Tropic Care Kauai 2016 which starts June 20 (The Kauai Bus is free from June 20 to 29 islandwide so people can take advantage of Tropic Care!).
Have a safe Memorial Day!
