But the effort fell short as the Pono Blue overpowered the Pono White, 47-29 behind 12 points from Monique Lorenzo and 10 points apiece from Laka Daligcon and Monique Tomacder in the Division 1 girls matchup.
Kaye Serapio helped the Pono White effort with nine points in the first of three games played.
Amalya Sales ended with 14 points and Jasmyne Ballesteros added 13 points to keep the Kauai Lynx ahead of the Rebels, 34-25 in the second match, a Division 3 girls game.
Jaley Medeiros topped the Rebels’ effort with 10 points.
Tisha Burton fired off six points, and the trio of Ashlyn Agena, Momi Martins and Brychelle Kalai added four points apiece to lead the Westside to a 20-9 win over the Dream Team in the nightcap, a Division 3 girls match.
Alexie Ann Yam poured in five of the Dream Team’s nine points in the effort.
Results from the three games played in Kapaa were not available at press time.
Games continue Thursday starting at 6 p.m. in Kapaa and Kalaheo.
The boys take the floor in Kapaa when Kapaa Division 4 boys takes on the TL Spurs starting at 6 p.m. followed by the Supersonics Division 4 boys tangling with the TL Warriors at 7 p.m. The nightcap will tip off at 8 p.m. when the Division 3 boys Supersonics go up against Papalina.
On the Kalaheo courts, the Division 4 girls open the action at 6 p.m. when the Rebels A take on the Dream Team followed by the Division 3 girls tipping off at 7 p.m. when the Rebels go up against the Dream Team. The finale starts at 8 p.m. when the Division 3 girls Kauai Lynx tips off against Westside.
