Faith Gabour is only a freshman, but is planning on going to Kansas for college after volunteering with Tropic Care Kauai.
She got to sit in with Emily Fort (she loves those Sugarloaf Pineapple Phrostys from the Kauai Community College Farmers Market where Faith was busy distributing fliers) while waiting on Gov. David Ige’s party on Sunday.
Another Emily, Emily Amyotte from Topeka, Kansas, was enjoying chasing the dignitaries as the public affairs officer heading to the Eleele Elementary School site, and it was nice meeting the Toni Torres counterparts, Joan Takamori (she’s the boss), and Martha Yanada of the Big Island during the Mahalo Luau (Lauren Guest titled it “Troop Recognition Event”) at Smith’s Tropical Paradise.
Kudos to Courtney Puig on a great third anniversary of the Kilauea Art Night on Saturday. Olivia Gegen was playing her violin, so Papa Pat got to do the Poppie’s Popcorn on the rock where all those Lawai food trucks (Courtney said mahalo to Seth Petersen of Kickshaw’s for the connections) were setting up.
Courtney goes on vacation, so the next Princeville Art Night (yep, she sets that up, too) will be in August.
