If we could have audio in newsprint, we could hear how beautiful Christine Graycochea says her last name. Her family was on hand Saturday during the Kauai Police Activities League flag football (Lt. Mark Ozaki said he just couldn’t stay away) at the North Vidinha fields.
Kauai Police Department officer Mitch Collier said Vidinha Stadium will be the hub when K-PAL presents the Sprint Triathlon event on July 17, and he’s working to get the K-PAL football players to come out and cheer on the competitors, too. We haven’t seen a triathlon in the Lihue area since the Kauai Loves You event, so come out and support this event which raises funds for the K-PAL programs (Lt. Mark is already thinking about a wrestling match similar to the boxing event at Kukui Grove Center).
The good thing about K-PAL is Chef Rafael Camarillo and his wife Ruby were on hand with both a breakfast and lunch menu to help all those hungry stomachs. Coach Bo Domingcil couldn’t resist the Elvis Stuffed French Toast (Ruby even gave him extra syrup), and Yukie Desilva was toying with the Hamajang omelet idea. OK, so if there’s no graduation parties, hopefully Chef Raf and his crew will be at the next one (what’s on the lunch menu? Oh yeah, it’s too early to tell).
