Congratulations to Gen. Mary Kay Hertog who chaired the successful 65th Disabled American Veterans and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary convention that wrapped up Saturday with the banquet.
Bobby Paik said he won’t be able to make this weekend’s Father’s Day car show since he’ll be on the mainland, and Harvey Maeda said George Nitta (does he still have his automotive radio show?) will be back with a supply of Shell gift cards and more information on ethanol.
Paul Togioka (congratulations on receiving the Lifetime Achievement award from Na Hoku Hanohano!) did his masterful playing, and congratulations to Chef Nick Gotelaere on getting through the convention with his buffet! Lily Kawamura said she was like a queen bee, and Paige McIntosh was totally thrilled to discover a newspaper was in the house.
For those looking for a Father’s Day event, Bonnie Tiffany and Charlotte Ross of the Nawiliwili Yacht Club said they will be hosting the annual Father’s Day Keiki Fishing Tournament for keiki ages 3 through 13 years Sunday with registration from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Entry fee of $5 earns a hot dog and soda. Anglers need to bring their own fishing pole and bait, and a bucket for catch-and-release.
