KALAHEO— Christian Vlautin, project coordinator for the Kauai Nene Habitat Conservation Plan, will be providing information on the Hawaiian goose’s ecology and recovery on Kauai at a public talk scheduled 6 p.m. July 6 at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
This free event is open to the public, and will be an opportunity to gain some general nene knowledge and learn about the history of the bird species, their biology, and what makes them unique to Kauai. It will also be a good time to hear about conservation efforts of the population.
