Where did all those Joys come from? Monique Joy Lorenzo (she went to get food), Apryl Joy Grande, and Tiana Joy Ramos (didn’t they used to call her “TJ?”) were all at the scorers’ table keeping track of who scored goals during the summer league games (was nice to see Gene Padilla back on the floor as an official) at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
Brandon Sprague (how many of you remember when he worked for TGI 16 years ago?), his wife Meghan Laslocky, and son Henry came in from Oakland, California, in time to visit with Brandon’s mom Mallone McRaine and step dad Dean at the Mahelona Hospital beach outing.
Greg Planas and Clifford Mindoro sure made those cheeseburgers smell good, and mahalo to Josie Pablo for the cookie for the road. Josie said she is grateful to the volunteers who make it possible for the Mahelona Hospital and Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital residents to enjoy the beach. Juvie Bercasio even got Kamali‘i Thronas of the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa to contribute beach towels for all the residents, and it was good to see Elaine Morita come out to enjoy the festivities. Sharla Hasegawa (sure miss those Minnie Mouse getups) said it was nice to see everyone again.
