LAWAI — Police have identified the 65-year-old Kalaheo woman who died earlier this week in a single-vehicle accident.
Marcia Bjornstad was heading north on Koloa Road about 6 p.m. July 4 when her Honda sedan crossed the center line and struck a fence along the southbound shoulder of the roadway. The impact caused the sedan to flip onto its roof before crashing into a building. Bjornstad, who was the only occupant of the car, died at the scene of the crash.
It was Kauai’s sixth traffic fatality this year.
Alcohol is not a suspected factor in the cause of the crash, police said.
