‘Flattered’ by attention to letter
I would like to thank Mr. Steve Martin of Kapaa for his letter on July 19. It is not often when a person of opposing views doesn’t dispute any of the facts.
I “assume” that you did not understand what the scope of my letter was. I talked about how this disastrous dairy would affect you and I, not the people who stupidly bought property in the middle of a vacation area knowing that a commercial “dairy” would be proposed 30 years later.
The fact that property values will go down if this thing comes to pass is just that, a fact. I agree with you that assuming is often misguided, so your “assumption” that I am one of the uninformed sheep following the “Hammerquist propaganda” is disturbing.
The fact is although you mentioned her twice, I have never had the pleasure of meeting Bridget Hammerquist but I do appreciate everything she has been doing on your and my behalf to stop this environmental, ecological and economic disaster from happening. I look forward to shaking her hand one day.
Once again I thank you for reading my letter “several times” even though you didn’t understand. I am flattered.
