Kauai will mark its passage of the CARE Act with a breakfast at the Courtyard Marriott at Coconut Beach 9 to 11 a.m. Aug. 17, recognizing legislators and key supporters of the CARE Act. The breakfast will also highlight the 2016 legislative session and provide an update national and state issues.
Laurel Coleman, a Kauai geriatric physician will be giving a presentation called “Advocating for Loved Ones – Important skills every caregiver should have.”
AARP Hawaii invites the public to celebrate the passage of the CARE Act, which was signed into law in June.
Under the CARE Act, hospitals are required to to establish procedures giving family caregivers the opportunity to receive instruction in the medical tasks required when their loved ones are discharged.
