LIHUE — Kauai RSVP, which is part of the Agency on Elderly Affairs, announced the kick-off of a collection drive that will benefit Kauai Economic Opportunity’s homeless emergency shelter.
“We are collecting hygiene products to donate to the homeless shelter as part of the Sept. 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance,” said Grants Manager Celia Melchor-Questin.
The products being collected are body soap, deodorant, laundry detergent, razors, rubber slippers, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste and towels.
The items can be dropped off Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Agency on Elderly Affairs/Kauai RSVP. The office is at the Lihue Civic Center, 4444 Rice Street, Suite 330. The deadline is Wednesday, Sept. 7.
Additionally, donations will be accepted on two Saturdays, Aug. 13 and Aug. 27, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Kmart and Times Supermarket in Lihue.
