The young Lihue Falcons’ flag football player is Jeyvin Ramelb, said Renee Kawakami, team mom for the Kauai Pop Warner Football League flag football program which has just two more weeks to play. She said with no jersey numbers to go by, people identify the players by the color shoes they wear, or the color gloves they have on. Games continue Sunday at the Bryan J. Baptiste Memorial Sports Complex in Kapaa from 8 a.m.
Lorna Santos asked Sunday if the Lawai Cannery Self Storage garage sale benefiting the Kauai Bots robotics program is from 9 a.m. (nope, Charlene Steuri hasn’t called, yet.) This comes just a day after Troy Lazaro’s aqua-Zumba program (also benefiting the Kauai Bots) Saturday at the YMCA Pool.
Kevin Matsunaga of the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School media class is also hosting the program’s fund-raising golf tournament at the Wailua Golf Course (it starts early!), and if there is time, there’s free car seat inspections at Walmart.
Sunday is a busy day with the Special Olympics program hosting its annual motorcycle ride (thank you, Larry Feinstein for the heads-up) at the convention hall. They’ll pass by the Kauai Veterans Cemetery where the West Kauai Club 100 will host its annual memorial service from 10:30 a.m.
