Elizabeth Freeman is excited because this year is the 20th anniversary of the Festival of Lights at the historic County Building. She (and Manu Fonua, of course) was one of the steady line of breakfast diners taking in the 38th annual Labor Day Breakfast (kudos to Lyn Collison on a great event!).
And since Manu was there, how can we not see Teili Fonua, the Kapaa High No. 2 quarterback? Larry Feinstein (he was taking over for Jim Guerber during the Thursday Food Truck night event at the Kauai Beer Company) said he’s been doing the breakfast for 14 years with the Sons of Kauai.
Harold Rosa said they started to do the breakfast a year after the club formed in 2003, and John McFarland said they’re still tallying the Life’s Bridges Poker Run from last week.
Dr. Thomas Grollman said he’s already got a Canon 5D MkIV on order (how many of you are doing the Pentax World Day which started Sept. 6? We need to get Hawaii, er Kauai, on the map!), and John Lydgate (he’s got a Make A Difference project coming up at Lydgate Park) said he’s an “octogenarian” along with several other people at the breakfast.
OK, time to go check out the air riflery competition (they don’t have this in Ohio?), and the girls volleyball games.
