David Elliot Torres Jr.
David Elliot Torres Jr. of Kapaa passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Sept. 21, 2016, at the age of 38. He was born on Oahu on Jan. 26, 1978, and was employed in the parts department/mechanic for Two Wheels/Garden Island Motor Sports.
Preceded in death by his father, David Torres Sr., maternal grandparents, Dado and Tina Tomacder; paternal grandparents, Elias and Hilda Torres.
David is survived by his mother, Sally Torres of Kapaa; sister, Shannon (Victor) Aquino of Texas; niece, Zyaesjah Torres Sueoka; nephews, Samson Aquino and Tyrion Aquino; numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, beginning at 11 a.m. at Lydgate Park Beach side.

Carlos Vea
Carlos Vea passed away at the age of 87 on Sept. 30, 2016, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born on May 17, 1929, in Kekaha, he was a retired Herbicide Supervisor with Kekaha Sugar Company and the original drummer for The Starlighter’s from 1959.
He is preceded in death by his father, Valeriano Vea; mother, Rufina Sacullis; step-mother, Ruperta Vea; sister, Florencia Ramos Pedro; and sister-in-law, Patricia Ramos.
Carlos is survived by his wife, Florentine “Flora” Vea; sons, Anthony (Adela) Vea, Howard Vea, and Edwin Vea; grandchildren, Alicia Vea, Alison (Andrew Jr.) Vea Lazaro, Ashlee (Tawnya) Vea, Alyssa Vea, Shaun (Kaiann) and Jerrick (Shelcee) Fabro; thirteen great-grandchildren, Kalen, Kalee, Brett, Anson, Alia, Kalena, Kailen, Dylan, Brittny, William, Kaisen, Kanoa, and Lilly; one great-great-grandson, Oliver; brothers, Mariano (Carlina) Vea, Alejandro (Marcelina) Vea, Alfredo Ramos Jr., Juan Ramos, and Francisco (Lorna) Ramos; sisters, Julia Ramos Aque, and Gloria Ramos Hipolito; brother-in-law, Chris Pedro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at the West Kauai United Methodist Church in Kekaha. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. with a Celebration of Life beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the Kekaha Public Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested and flowers are welcomed.

Laura K. Nada Mission of Lihue, passed away at the age of 55 on Sept. 30, 2016, at Garden Isle Health Care. Born on April 9, 1961, in Lihue, she was a Physics Teacher at Waimea High School.
She is preceded in death by Jack Torao Nada; and survived by her sons, Mark Matsushima Jr. of Brea, California, Micah Matsushima of Brea, California, and Levi Mission of Eleele, Hawaii; mother, Irene Nada; brothers, Dr. Aaron Nada of Honolulu and Clyde (Lota) Nada of Hanapepe; sisters, Marlene (Conrad) Oishi of Honolulu, Debbie Miyao of Honolulu, and Kathleen Nada-Schrader of Seattle, Washington; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and husband, Francis “Bully” Mission.
A Celebration of Laura’s Life will be held on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. with services beginning at 4 p.m.

Jose Edica Yadao
Jose Edica Yadao of Kapaa, Hawaii passed away on Sept. 27, 2016, in Lihue. Born on Sept. 14, 1934, in Hanalei and was a diesel mechanic for Smith’s Motor Boats.
He is preceded in death by his father, Timoteo Yadao; mother, Eutropia Yadao; brothers, Bernard “Nado” Yadao, and Raymond “Mondo” Yadao; and sisters, Lourdes “Mary” Cabacungan, Esmenia “Essie” Belmonte, and Christina “Katy” Constantino.
Jose is survived by his wife, Jean Yadao; sons, Keith (Noel) Crozier of Oregon, Jose Yadao Jr. of San Jose, and Chad Yadao of Kapaa; daughters, Darlene Gonsalves of Lihue, and Renee Yadao of Kalaheo; thirteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph “Juny” (Theresa) Yadao of Kilauea; sisters, Josephine “Sipen” (Vernon) Asuncion of Kilauea, and Frances “Ansing” (Modesto) Bilog of California; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial services will be held at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with services to begin at 11 a.m. Internment will take place later at the Kauai Veteran’s Cemetery.

Juanita (Tolbe) Eslit
Juanita (Tolbe) Eslit of Hanapepe, Hawaii passed away at the age of 87 on Sept. 16, 2016, at Kaua’i Care Center. Born on Aug. 25, 1929, in Lahaina Maui she was a Baggage Inspector with HPA.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Roberta Tayan Cabucos; father, Ramon Eslit; daughter, Stephanie Figueira; brothers, Don Eslit and Sencio Eslit; and sisters, Vicky Eslit, Melania Lebanon, Margie Kaai, and Katherine Sumilo.
Juanita is survived by her sons, Howard J. (Anna Marie) Tolbe of Eleele, and Brandon Tolbe of Massachusetts; daughters, Clara (Gary) Mackler of Lawai, and Colleen (Jovan) Bautista of Hanapepe; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister, Clara Tayan Eslit of Waianae; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. with Mass to follow at 10 o’clock.

Ronald “Ronnie” Hiroshi Nakazawa, 74 years old of Kilauea, Kauai passed away on Sept. 17, 2016, at his home in Kilauea, Kauai.
Born on Dec. 2, 1941, he was an Alarm Installer.
He is preceded in death by parents Katsumi and Kimie Nakazawa, sister Yuriko Nakazawa, nephew Joseph (Joey) Nakazawa.
He is survived by his wife Jennifer Nakazawa, son: Ronald Nakazawa, Jr., daughter: Kimie (Wendal Olanalan, Jr.) Nakazawa, granddaughters: Alyssa Nakazawa, Siani Olanolan & Starry Olanolan, 3) brothers: Edward (Nelia) Nakazawa John “Jackie” (Faith) Nakazawa, Harold (Pat) Nakazawa, 3) sisters: Betsey Tanaka, Grace Nakazawa, Nancy Nakazawa & numerous nieces & nephews.

Sheryl Lee Hearn
Sheryl Lee Hearn, 54, manager of Whiskers Resort, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016.
Sheryl was born on May 5, 1962, and was raised in San Diego, California. As an adult, she moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where she met and married her beloved husband, Russell, on New Year’s Eve, 1998. Sheryl gave birth to their lovely daughter, Lila, in 1999. Sheryl fulfilled her dream of moving to Hawaii and in 2012, the family settled in Kapaa. Sheryl forged friendships in her new community and became manager of Whiskers Resort helping it win “Best of Kauai” annually. Sheryl was a dedicated wife and mother. She had a delightful personality, great sense of humor, friendly disposition, and giving nature. She passed away from complications related to cancer.
Sheryl is survived by her husband of 17 years, Russell Hearn, and their 17-year-old daughter, Lila Hearn. She will be very missed.
Her memorial service will be at Kealia Beach at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, followed by a potluck over a cooking fire. Please bring your memories, a beach chair and a potluck item.
Clinton Dean Prescott
Clinton Dean Prescott of Kapaa passed away on Sept. 10, 2016, at the age of 58. He was born in Idaho on Aug. 15, 1958, and previously was a drywall finisher and entrepreneur.
He is preceded in death by his mother Karma Lee Knudsen Christensen.
Clinton is survived by his son Shane Prescott; daughters, Lea Prescott and Malia (Troy) Gall; father Jimmy (Lynda) Prescott; mother of Clinton’s children, Margaret Prescott; brother, John Adkins, sisters Ronnie (Dan) Walker, Sheryl Lutz, Lori Hamilton, Annalena (Foster) Thompson; 3 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews & cousins

Jose’ Aguayo died peacefully at his brothers home in El Centro California on Oct. 2, 2016.
Jose’ was partner and vice president of King Auto Center.
He lived on Kauai for more that 30 years and he loved and considered Kauai to be his home.
He is survived by his Sister Maria Llanes and her husband Victor Llanes of San Antonio Texas, their son Victor Llanes Jr. of Kauai.
His brother Jorge Aguayo his wife Martha, their children Damian, Maria and Jorge Antonio Aguayo of Riverside California.
His Brother Salvador Aguayo and his wife Adriana, their children Jorge, Elena and Adriana Aguayo of El Centro California.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2990 Mokoi Street, Lihue on October 23. Services will be at 10 a.m. with the celebration of life to follow from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Anna Kahikilani Kaohelauli’i
Anna Kahikilani Kaohelauli’i of Makaweli, Hawaii passed away at the age of 63 on Oct. 2, 2016, in Waimea, Kaua’i, Hawai’i. Born on June 21, 1953, in Puuwai, Niihau, she was a clerk at Ke Kula Niihau ‘O Kekaha School.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dana A. Kaohelauli’i Sr.; daughter, Joanna Kaohelauli’i; father, Donald H. Kanahele; and brother, Donald H. Kanahele.
Anna is survived by her sons, Dana (Tyra Kamau) Kaohelauli’i Jr. of Pakala, and Ronnie Kaohelauli’i of Honolulu; daughters, Kathy (Malia) Kaohelauli’i of Honolulu and Cheryl (John) Kahokuloa of Kekaha; nine grandchildren; mother, Annie K. Kanahele; brothers, Joseph (Maryann) Kanahele of Koloa, and Kelmer H.
