This is a wild Halloween weekend, starting with the Kauai United Way Walk-a-thon (Nellie Okamoto will be there along with Aunty Joan Kealalio and the Kapaa High School Interact Club), Saturday morning at the Kukui Grove Center.
Scott Giarman said they adjusted the start time (8 a.m.) so finishers can enjoy the Haunted House which will open at 10 a.m. and benefits the Kauai United Way.
Stacie Chiba-Miguel also has the mall’s Halloween Festival starting at 10 a.m. with Ron Wiley guiding the distribution of more than $5,000 in prizes in the Howl & Scream, Keiki Costume Contest, and for this year, the Family Costume Contest.
Roy and Barbara Miyake are happy campers with the new pickleball lines at the Lihue tennis courts (Lori Uyeda said they’re “unobtrusive”).
OK, time to go check out Lt. Mark Ozaki, officer Mitch Collier and all those Kauai Police Activities League boxers (the Haunted House is also open so it’s going to be a lot of fun … even Ron Wood said he’s planning on stopping by). Everything starts at 5 p.m. at the Kukui Grove Center Exhibition Area.
