LIHUE – The public is invited to attend the Kaua‘i Made and Kaua‘i Grown tradeshow. The event will be held on from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall in Lihue.
Attendees will be able to shop for locally made products and listen to Hawaiian music. The entertainment will include Cruz Control, a contemporary Hawaiian trio, and Na Hoku Hanohano award winning ukulele player Kepa Kruse.
The Kauai Made program was launched in 2006 by the county with support from the Hawaii Tourism Authority. The aim of the program is to provide locally made products with more visibility and encourage production of value-added agricultural products. A wide range of products are available through the program including: apparel and accessories; artwork; crafts; food; floral; health and beauty; jewelry; publications and more.
Established in 2009, Kaua‘i Grown is an initiative of the County of Kauai and the Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau that promotes locally grown agricultural products. In addition, the program recognizes the farmers, ranchers, retailers and restaurants that bring these products to the consumer.
