LIHUE — A fundraiser for Kauai High School’s Project Grad is scheduled next week.
“The purpose of Project Grad is to keep our graduates safe on graduation night,” said Laurie Yoshida, Project Grad chair for the Class of 2017. “Since the inception of Project Grad, there haven’t been any fatalities due to driving under the influence or stuff like that, in terms of our graduates.”
From 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 30 at the McDonald’s in Lihue, 25 to 30 percent of proceeds from customer purchases will go toward Project Grad.
To help keep graduates safe, Yoshida and the Project Grad committee at Kauai High organize fundraising events to raise money for students who choose to participate in the event.
