KAPAA — The last open house for the general plan update will take place today.
The meeting will take place in the All Saints’ Church gym in Kapaa from 4 to 8 p.m. A presentation will start at 6 p.m.
The discussion draft of the general plan was released online on Nov. 4. It was based on input from a variety of public outreach events over 16 months, including community, small group, neighborhood association, major landowners and government agencies meetings as well as at special events and via social media.
The draft contains a vision, goals, policies, actions and land use maps to guide Kauai’s future growth.
The draft can be viewed at www.plankauai.com.
In addition to the open house, comments may be emailed to plankauai@kauai.gov or mailed to the Kauai County Planning Department.
The comment period will end Dec. 2.
