LIHUE — The grounds of the recently dedicated Hilton Garden Inn Wailua Bay will be the setting for a free Concert Fest from noon until 5 p.m. Saturday.
Hosted by the KMS Choir Booster’s Club, the event helps with the fundraising efforts to get the Kapaa Middle School musical group to the Heritage Music Festival in Anaheim, California, during the spring.
“This will be a totally busy day for us because we’re participating in the annual Veterans Day Parade,” said Mary Lardizabal, director of the Kapaa Middle School Ukulele Band and Chorus. “We hope we’re near the top of the lineup because we shoot over to Wailua and open the doors to the Concert Fest.”
On the entertainment lineup are hula performances by Kaliah Kaneakua and Tamateo Nui O Kauai. Musical presentations include Not My First Rodeo, Sam and Tristen Mahuiki with sound provided by Hawaiian Muzik Factory.
There will be vendors, games and food.
“We’re truly grateful for the Hilton Garden Inn for making their site available to help us,” Lardizabal said.
