Birthday party was the best
It was a wonderful time to celebrate life with my loving and caring family and friends on my 80th birthday on July 8. Also commemorating my arrival in America on July 4, 1956, 60 years ago, plus being able to spend half my life Hawaii; 39 years on Kauai.
My son, Adrian W., graduated from Kauai High School in 1996 and then went to NYU Tisch Film School, graduating in 2009 with a BA in fine arts. There he met his future wife, Elizabeth. They and their son, Jack Wyatt, and daughter, Lauden Arrabella, all outdid themselves putting together the most fantastic, elegant surprise dinner party, hiring a top of the line caterer who also outdid themselves serving great, delicious food complete with champagne, wine, desserts and birthday cake.
A talented musician played guitar and sang great Hawaiian songs and come classics, too. We all had such great and fun time. Along with my son, daughter-in-law and grandkids were my lady friend of 25 years, Victoria Golden, artist James Hoyle (known as the American Van Gogh), Adrian’s school buddies, Kawika who now works as a pharmacist, Kawika’s wife, and John, now a math teacher at Kauai High.
Also, I’d like to thank my friends and forever customers for their support over all those years at Adolf’s Auto Body & Paint.
Most of all thank you Adrian and Elizabeth for such a glorious celebration (Victoria said it was the most beautiful she had ever seen).
Also most of all thank you, Kauai, for teaching me about the local way of love and caring. I am Adolf Befurt, your humble citizen, thanking all for sharing so many great and wonderful years in the best place in the world, paradise Kauai! Mahalo and much love!
