Wow! Black Friday brought out the celebrities like Ron Wiley who walked around with free or heavily discounted food cards from all kinds of restaurants. He later added a shopping cart of wrapped (Stacie Chiba-Miguel was having a hard time keeping up with his distribution) gifts. Over at the parking lot, Dickie Chang was looking for parking (was not as hard as going to Oahu), and Ron Wood and Beau Acoba came off the air to announce the Kauai Christmas Parade.
Over in Hanapepe, Santa in Paradise (did he recover from all those Koloa School kids?) dropped in on the Storybook Theater, and Wendy Raebeck (she was book-signing at the Talk Story bookstore) was having thoughts about The Right Slice apple pie (they don’t have that every day).
Mahalo to Branden “Brando” Nagamine on that tasty malasada based on his grandma’s recipe (those are the best kine). He was talking about the mural that was created with the help of Eleele School students and Joanna Carolan of the Banana Patch while waiting on the oil to heat up. The mural will be dedicated later this week since the last time it was scheduled, Eleele School was on lockdown because of that guy running around all over the island.
