What a perfect time to host the Kauai Apprenticeship Day and Career Day — the Kauai Community College culinary arts students James-Travis Peralta and Alexis Tacsiat (she’s related to Kauai Bakery) were grilling up someone’s teri beef sandwich. James said the grill is at the bookstore on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and offers teri beef plate, teri chicken plate, or salad with choice of meat (try match those prices at a food truck), and teri beef and teri chicken sandwiches … hurry, their last week for this semester is the week after Thanksgiving.
Kudos to Kaeo Bradford and Bobby Ayonon for spearheading that apprenticeship program! Got to meet up with the KCC director of CTE Val Barko who has been on the job for eight weeks, and Gary Elwood was walking around without a camera (but a good prompt to stop by the Pi‘ikoi Building to see the latest photos by the KCC media students).
Grace Delos Reyes (don’t forget the RSVP recognition event, Dec. 9) said Wednesday was Information and Referral/Community Service Day and a good chance to recognize the Agency on Elderly Affairs people, including Julie Kajiwara, Lillian Bennett, Rose Manago and Patricia Gonsalves.
