LIHUE — The Public Works/Parks and Recreation Committee unanimously approved a bill Wednesday that would allow the sale of alcohol at Wailua Golf Course.
Bill No. 2635 seeks to allow the sale of alcohol at the golf course via roving concessions. Currently, golfers can consume alcohol at the restaurant. The committee recommended approval of the bill at council.
The committee also discussed a bill that would allow vending in county-owned streets. Bill 2628 was killed by the committee after Lee Steinmetz, transportation planner, said there was more to add, like enforcement provisions.
A new bill is expected to be drafted by February.
