• Dairy won’t be good for Kauai
I challenge Amy Hennessey to show specific and factual proof to back up her statement “… our pasture-based model is good for Kauai.” (TGI, Dec. 2, 2016,“Sides discuss ways to resolve Clean Water Act violation lawsuit.”)
I am at a loss to find any justification for that claim. She speaks also about bringing “fresh local milk to local families” when, in fact, absolutely none of the milk will remain on Kauai; it will all be sent to Oahu for processing.
Hawaii Dairy Farm’s boast of creating seven jobs pales in comparison to the hundreds of jobs that will be lost when, inevitably, visitors stop coming to Poipu because of the stench of cow manure and urine and the biting flies permeating the Visitor Destination Area.
Ms. Hennessey, your continued propaganda asserting that the proposed experimental industrial dairy, located in the pristine Mahaulepu Valley, will be “good for Kauai” insults the intelligence of the residents of and visitors to The Garden Island. Can you prove me wrong? I look forward to your accepting my challenge to speak up.
