This is a great opportunity to see the West Kauai United Methodist Church at Kaumakani.
Usually, people passing through Kaumakani do not have that privilege because the church is always locked with a chain. On Dec. 10, the church will be open when it hosts its first craft fair and silent auction from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Kaumakani.
Located in the midst of former canefield land, the church sits across the Kaumuali‘i Highway from the Thrifty Mart/Aloha Sweet Delites and the Kaumakani post office.
The proceeds from this craft fair and silent auction will go toward missional and outreach programs, assist with local projects, buildings, and property improvement, said Edwin Vea, fair chair.
“Proceeds will especially help in the continued works of our ‘Mangan Taylon: Let’s Eat Program’ which feeds the elderly and those in need, twice a month,” Vea said.
Vea said with the community’s support, the West Kauai United Methodist Church will continue to support missionaries serving in the Philippines, Africa, Thailand, across the United States, and other countries.
