Dee Wisneski, associate head coach for the University of Hawaii softball team and a Waimea High School alumna, will be heading the Garden Island Softball Clinic for players aged 7 through 18 years old at the Hanapepe Ball Park.
“We had such a good turnout last year, we wanted to do it again,” said Kirk Correa, one of the clinic organizers.
The softball clinic will take place Dec. 17 with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. The clinic will run from 9 a.m. to noon with an event T-shirt and lunch. Cost is $15.
Correa said the Garden Island Baseball Clinic for players aged 9 through 14 years old will be Dec. 26 and 27 at the Lihue Baseball Park next to Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall.
“A lot of parents wanted a clinic that would teach players position play,” Correa said. “This year, we will try it out. We have a great staff and some great players from Kauai.”
The clinic runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.
Registration is based on whether the participant is registered all two days, or a single day. All-day participants have a choice of the following position play work.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the multiple Sclerosis Society of Hawaii.
