HAENA — The Kalalau Trail and Napali Coast State Wilderness Park will be closed to day hikers from Monday through Wednesday for a rockfall mitigation project (weather permitting), according to the Department of Land and Natural Resources.
The project site is located between Haena and Hanakapiai Stream.
Overnight hiker and campers with a valid camping permit will be allowed access on the trail with intermittent pedestrian controls at the work site. They may experience short delays.
Day hikers will not be permitted on the trail during this period. The Division of State Parks apologizes for any inconvenience as these necessary safety improvement are made.
