Kudos to Laurie Ho, Amy Chun and Melissa McFerrin-Warrack on a great Holiday Festival featuring Kauai Grown and Kauai Made items!
Chris Kauwe had a bunch of great asparagus (he said don’t cut off the bottom halves), and yes, the real Amber McClure was home to help at the Moloaa Bay Coffee and Chocolate table.
Nia Klutke (congratulations on the silver and Judges Pick awards at the Kapiolani competition!) had her Christmas eyes on, and most vendors were so busy it was hard to get in any conversation.
Nia said Chris Corpuz took bronze, Casey Ching finished with bronze, and what was the term for Makenna Pascua’s award? Those Kauai Community College culinary arts students were able to get to Oahu because of the first Poipu Food and Wine Festival held in November.
Edwin Vea (did he get wet, too?) was able to do a bunch of sales at Mailelani’s and still got prime seating at the Waimea Lighted Christmas Parade, and Makena Duncan was doing stuff at the KIF paddling regatta (Shirley Medeiros said it was pouring in Kekaha, and Happy Birthday, Kristian Mastsumoto!) and still make it back to Waimea in time for the parade.
OK, time to be extra nice — this is the countdown to Christmas.
