Sam Lee was excited to visit Warehouse 3540 because he was going to show “hard copies” of his Etsy Sam’s Stuff Kauai Saturday night during Second Saturday. He got more excited because he stopped off to visit Charlie Hiramoto who was getting ready for his Chinese New Year of the Rooster block print. He even has a story about the rooster that inspired the design.
Robin Jackson of Rollin-n-Dough (remember them from the Traveler’s Den in Kekaha?) was having the Kickshaw’s (you should see how grown up Seth Peterson’s daughter has become) version of grits and bacon (Robin said it doesn’t matter even if it has no nutritional value — it tastes good and the Kauai Coffee sauce will help keep her awake after baking all night). Rollin-n-Dough used to bake the original Puka Dog buns when they operated under the mango tree by Guadalupe’s in Kekaha.
Okay, next free Second Saturday after basketball, check them out in Lawai.
Happy Martin Luther King Day, and happy birthday to Donald (his daughter Ashlee had her yakudoshi Sunday) and Ronald Fujimoto!
