Visitors to the Hawaiian Islands spent a total of $1.2 billion in November, a gain of 5.6 percent versus last November and the sixth consecutive month with a year-over-year increase, according to recent statistics released by the Hawaii Tourism Authority.

Total visitor arrivals grew 4.7 percent to 696,890 visitors, the most ever recorded for the month of November.
Kauai saw 87,544 visitors in November, a 5.5 percent increase from November 2015. However, visitor spending was down in November, $113.8 million, a 4.7 percent decline from the same month last year.
Through the first 11 months of the year, Kauai has had 1.08 million visitors, up slightly from 2015. Spending through November on Kauai totaled $1.5 billion, a 7.4 percent increase from the first 11 months last year.
Growth in Kauai arrivals was realized from Canada, plus 12.8 percent, Japan, plus 5.4 percent, U.S. West, plus 4.7 percent and U.S. East, plus 4.7 percent. However, daily spending dropped 8.8 percent to $172 per person.
