I feel compelled to tweet my feelings about TGI’s coverage of Jan. 21’s supposed Women’s March on Kauai. Sad! I found it hard to believe that 1,500 people would turn out to protest our new reality show apprentice president who was elected by an overwhelming minority of voters and who is revered by our new allies, such as Russia. Yes! Women in particular who would be expected to be attending to their domestic duties on a Saturday morning. Of course!
So, I checked with White House sources who offered their “alternative facts” on the march. According to these sources, their were only 12 people on Ahukini Road, six of whom were tourists looking for Walmart, and six of whom were on their way to dispose of pink wrapping paper at the recycling center. Your photos were obvious hack jobs by those intent on discrediting our new leader. For sure!
I therefore urge The Garden Island to adopt the new paradigm when it comes to “facts,” which at least for the next 1,458 days, 12 hours and six minutes, will be fluid (or even optional) items that will change daily depending on the whim of our Tweeter in Chief. Even sadder!
