Kauai High School’s varsity girls basketball team lost to No. 4 Kalani High of the Oahu Interscholastic League in the quarterfinals of the Snapple Girls Basketball Championships — Division II state tournament.
The Red Raiders lost to the Falcons, 68-48, Thursday at Kalani High School in Honolulu.
Taegan Keep got a double-double for Kauai with 13 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks. Cici Tanicala scored nine points, three rebounds and a steal.
Kirstin Kouchi led Kalani with a game-high 26 points, three rebounds and a steal.
The Red Raiders will play the loser of the quarterfinals game between No. 1 Mid-Pacific and Damien, both of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu. Results of that game were not available by press time.
Kauai’s consolation game will start 5 p.m. at Farrington High School in Honolulu.
Kauai High varsity girls basketball head coach James Dingus couldn’t be reached for comment Thursday.
In other D2 action, Lanai defeated Kohala, 60-59. Kamehameha Schools-Hawaii beat Moanalua, 44-33. Hawaii Baptist defeated Waipahu, 50-30.
