PUHI — A hearing is scheduled March 22 for Kauai Community College’s proposal to reclassify 148.5 acres of land from agricultural to urban usage.
KCC will go before the State Land Use Commission on March 22 after The Garden Island reported last November that the campus wanted to undergo this process in order to properly zone the campus for university purposes.
Denise Yoshimori-Yamamoto, director of Community College Facilities for the University of Hawaii, previously told TGI that the land isn’t being rezoned to construct new buildings or for urban development.
The hearing will be in the Mo‘ikeha Building conference rooms at 9:30 a.m.
